What We Offer
Empowering Families with Tools for Everyday Success
Our Treatment Expertises
GROSS MOTOR:
Skills that involve the coordination of large muscle groups in the body, enabling movements such as tummy time, sitting, crawling, walking, running, jumping, and balancing. These skills are essential for mobility, stability, and overall physical development, supporting participation in daily activities and play.
PRIMITIVE REFLEX
INTEGRATION:
Primitive reflexes are automatic, involuntary movements or responses that develop in utero and should be present at birth. Essential for survival and development, they assist with basic functions such as feedings, movement, and protection. As the brain and nervous system mature, these reflexes integrate, providing a foundation for more purposeful, voluntary motor control and advanced motor control, cognitive and sensory processing. If primitive reflexes persist beyond the typical age, they can interfere with development, impacting motor skills, coordination, balance, and cognitive function. Additionally, the absence of these reflexes at birth may indicate medical concerns.
MILESTONE ACHIEVEMENT:
Milestones are key developmental skills that reflect progress in motor skills, communication, and social interaction. Some important milestones include tummy time, rolling, sitting, crawling, walking, running, jumping, balancing, feeding, grasping objects, and playing. Each milestone is a step toward independence and participation in daily activities.
FINE MOTOR:
The movement and coordination of small muscles in the hands, fingers, and wrists, enabling precise movements for tasks such as grasping, writing, cutting, buttoning, and manipulating objects. These skills are essential for everyday activities and contribute to a child's independence and functional abilities.
SENSORY
INTEGRATION:
How our brain receives, organizes, and responds to sensory information from both our environment and our bodies, enabling us to engage in everyday activities such as walking, talking, eating, and playing. When sensory processing is efficient, we respond smoothly to our surroundings. However, challenges can arise when the brain struggles to process sensory input, impacting participation in daily tasks. Helping babies and children develop optimal sensory processing skills enhances their ability to engage with the world around them.
TONGUE TIES AND ORAL TISSUE RESTRICTIONS:
Oral restrictions can impact an infant’s ability to feed, move, play, breathe, and sleep. Addressing the entire body— including tension, range of motion restrictions, strength, motor coordination, sensory processing, autonomic nervous system regulation, and cranial nerve function— supports the achievement of developmental milestones and promotes overall wellness.
TORTICOLLIS AND PLAGIOCEPHALY:
Torticollis is a condition where the head tilts to one side, often due to muscular imbalances and cranial nerve dysfunction. This can limit head movement, create a head turn preference, and impact posture and overall development, making it difficult to engage in daily activities.
Plagiocephaly occurs when a baby's head becomes flat on one side, causing the skull to become asymmetrical. If left unaddressed, this can lead to a misshapen appearance and may contribute to developmental challenges. Early intervention can help support healthy growth and development.
PRE & POST FRENECTOMY CARE:
Therapy before and after a frenectomy-also known as a tongue or lip tie release—is essential for achieving the best outcomes.
Pre-frenectomy therapy prepares the body by addressing muscle tension, mobility restrictions, nervous system regulation, and oral motor skills, while ensuring the optimal timing for the release. This preparation promotes more effective healing and enhances function following the procedure.
Post-frenectomy therapy focuses on strengthening and neuromotor retraining of muscles through exercises designed to improve mobility, coordination, posture, and overall function. This phase helps the body adjust to the new range of motion, ensuring that the tongue and surrounding structures function optimally, with a focus on the entire body. By combining pre- and post-release therapy, the benefits of the frenectomy are maximized, supporting a child's ongoing growth and development.

What People Are Saying
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“I can’t say enough about Jana! Our daughter has trisomy 18 and she hit a plateau, we found Jana and our daughter immediately connected with her and Jana has gotten her to do more than she has ever been able to do and she enjoys it! She’s never enjoyed therapy before. She pushes her in the best way and has given her so much. Jana is so personable and treats us like family. 100% recommended her!”

“We were referred to Jana by our lactation consultant when my 8 week old baby began showing signs of possible tongue and lip ties and was having trouble nursing. Jana was able to confirm the diagnosis, show us how to work on suck training at home, refer us to a pediatric dentist, and help with post-release recovery. Thanks to her, baby now nurses like a pro! I am SO thankful to Jana for helping us achieve our breastfeeding goals and would recommend her to anyone in need of help with infant feeding!!”

“Words can't express the experience our daughter had at her intensive with Jana! We did not know what to expect, and there was so much anxiety around the unknown. In short, we were able to see our daughter be stretched, be cuddled and be cheered for, in a way that we have not experienced! Jana's passion and expertise gave me confidence that I've been searching for as a parent to do things at home to show my daughter a new normality around movement and fun throughout her day.”

“We spent a lot of time trying to find a therapist that was motivating to our T-18 daughter. Iron City OT has been the only one that we found that has been personable enough that our daughter will be not just cooperative, but eager. After just two sessions we saw more improvement than we had seen with half a year of sessions with other therapy institutions. The sessions are intense, but our daughter is never pushed beyond what she is capable of doing. She is visibly proud of herself when she accomplishes a tough task with Iron City OT, which is a far cry from the disgruntled and unhappy faces she would pull while at her previous sessions. We are very grateful to have found this therapist, wish they would have been recommended to us vice stumbling across them via our own research, and we are extremely proud of the progress our child has been making here!”

“Jana is an exceptional OT. She takes the time to train, learn new and innovative techniques and she will literally change your child's life! Jana has such a great rapport with the children she works with and the parents too. She is extremely patient and allows kids to be kids during her sessions, while still creating an environment that is conducive to expanding whatever skill that the child is working on. I am beyond impressed with her expertise. 💕”

“Jana is a passionate, experienced and a very knowledgeable OT. My son had a wonderful experience during his first intensive. He gets excited when he knows we are going to see Mrs. Jana for therapy. We are so thankful that a friend recommended her to us. Her private office is easy to access and convenient to the interstate.”
